Mr Daniel Herman

BPsychSci (Hons), MPsych (Clin), AdvDip Gestalt Psychotherapy

Daniel is a clinical psychologist (registrar) and psychotherapist with more than 10 years of experience helping people across a wide variety of difficulties. He has worked at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney for the past 8 years providing therapy to adults presenting with difficulties such as depression, anxiety, abuse and trauma, substance use and addictive behaviours, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, sexuality, grief and bereavement. Daniel also has experience working with children and adolescents, as well as working in palliative care and homeless health settings.

Daniel works from a supportive, non-judgmental approach and believes in collaboratively tailoring therapy to an individual’s needs, personality style, and unique goals. He combines his clinical psychology and psychotherapy training to support clients in becoming more aware of how they think, feel and act in the present moment; with the aim of providing insight into ways in which they can alleviate their current issues and distress in order to achieve personal growth and aspire to their full potential.

Daniel practices cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), and gestalt psychotherapy (a holistic, person-centred approach).

Daniel works at the Bondi Junction practice on a Monday and Friday and at Lane Cove on a Wednesday and Thursday. He also offers some after school/late afternoon appointments.
