Mrs Shane Lee Vassallo

Clinical Psychologist

Shane is a Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with children, adolescents and families experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties. She has over 22 years of experience and has worked in a range of settings within NSW Health.

Before working at Mindright, Shane worked as a Senior Clinical Psychologist and Team Leader at St George Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service providing assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents and families experiencing depression, anxiety, behavioural difficulties, family related stressors, social skills difficulties and developmental presentations including autism and AD/HD.

Shane has a particular interest in working with children and adolescents presenting with behavioural problems including conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder and AD/HD. She is also interested and very experienced in the management of anxiety disorders, self-esteem and eating difficulties. Shane also is experienced in working with parents during a separation to assist them to co-parent and to best support their children during this difficult time.

Shane has experience working with mothers experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety difficulties.  She has also worked in Adult Mental Health and Counselling services, seeing older adolescents and adults with Early Psychosis presentations, Mood and Anxiety Disorders.

Shane also works currently as a Clinic Supervisor within the School of Psychology at the University of New South Wales where she provides professional supervision to clinicians training to become Clinical Psychologists.
